Baidu announced a new generation of cloud infrastructure Baidu "Taihang", as well as six new products and upgraded the four application platforms to upgrade smart computing capabilities on August 20 at the 2020 Baidu Smart Cloud Smart Computing Summit.
"Taihang" is Baidu's Elastic Bare Metal Server V2.0, which is based on the company's hardware virtualization technology and next-generation cloud infrastructure to achieve the high-performance computing power of physical servers on top of having elastic and flexible cloud computing.
"Taihang" will be seamlessly integrated with Baidu Intelligent Cloud's industry-leading virtual network, cloud storage and products to meet the needs of various industries on the cloud.

Xie Guangjun, deputy general manager of Baidu Intelligent Cloud, also released six new intelligent computing products covering database, data center, cloud server, network, storage, intelligent mobile edge, and other fields.
The first is GaiaDB, Baidu's self-developed cloud-native database, with performance equivalent to eight times that of native MySQL.
Baidu's Baoding data center was announced to be open, capable of hosting 360,000 AI servers.
These new cloud servers are 20% more cost-effective and support richer scenarios such as cloud gaming.
The new network products support IPv6 across all regions, helping customers reduce bandwidth costs. New storage products offer 40x better performance and 80% lower cost per GB storage.
The new Smart Mobile Edge products provide ultra-low latency of less than 5ms and open up 5G network capabilities.
At the same time, Baidu Smart Cloud's four application development platforms will be upgraded, including Smart Video Cloud, Big Data Platform, Hybrid/Multi-Cloud Platform, and Blockchain Platform.
