China's leading Internet search provider Baidu announced today that it will increase its investment in artificial intelligence, chips, cloud computing, and data centers over the next decade.
The company expects that by 2030, the number of Bits intelligent cloud servers will exceed 5 million, which is seven times the combined computing power of the world's top 500 supercomputers.
This investment will better meet the demand for high-performance computing in the intelligent upgrade of industries in all walks of life, the company said.
Baidu also announced that it expects to train 5 million AI talents in the next five years, providing enough talent resources for the development of China's smart economy and intelligent society.
The company, however, did not elaborate on how it will train such a large number of talents.
Wang Haifeng, CTO of Baidu, said that the new infrastructure will be the new driving force for China's economic development in the coming decades, with emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, cloud computing, 5G, Internet of Things and blockchain as its key technological support.
Baidu, as an artificial intelligence platform enterprise, will use its years of accumulated experience in artificial intelligence technology to help speed up the new infrastructure and promote a faster landing of artificial intelligence.
