A total of 14,976 China-made Model 3s were registered in China in June, an increase of 32 percent over the same period of last year, according to autoinfo.org.cn.
In May, 11,364 China-made Tesla Model 3s were registered. This is an increase of 173.63 percent from the previous month's 4,153 units.
Tesla currently produces the domestically-built Model 3 at its Gigafactory in Shanghai, primarily for the Chinese market.
Production of the Chinese-made Model 3 officially started in January this year after a trial run at the end of 2019.
Since the first delivery in January, the domestically produced Model 3 has been one of the most popular cars in China.
Previously, the China Passenger Car Association's data showed that Tesla sold 14,954 China-made vehicles in China in June, up 35 percent from May's 11,095 units.
This represents 23 percent of the total electric vehicle market in China, thanks to the strong sales growth of the China-made Model 3.
