Apple today announced several new features for iPadOS 14 for iPad devices, and instead of iPadOS 2, this year's new version of the tablet system will be called iPadOS 14.
The new features include:
App Library, this feature automatically organizes the apps installed in your iPhone. It organizes apps based on categories and other factors.
Widgets, much like the widgets demoed on iOS 14, can easily be placed on the iPadOS 14 home screen with multiple widgets.
You can place widgets anywhere on the home screen, resize them, browse through the widget library, and add your favorite widgets.
Photos, Calendar, and Music apps get updates.
A new sidebar to help you organize your photos, music, and other content.
Siri can now provide you with answers in a small pop-up instead of always launching a full-screen experience that doesn't interrupt your workflow.
A new calling experience, when you take a call while using your device, the call UI will now appear at the top of the screen, instead of full screen.
A redesigned search experience, universal search experience that can be launched from anywhere to search for files, apps and even the web in a single tap.
Apple Pencil improvements with support for doodles, shape recognition, and handwriting recognition.
Users can also use the Apple Pencil to write in any text field, such as in Safari, where the Apple Pencil can be typed directly in the text box and then be recognized and jumped directly into the search.
Updates to the Apple Pencil are also more useful in apps like Contacts, Documents, and more.
Users select text the same way they enter it, which frees up more space for them to write.
Scribble even recognizes multiple languages in a line of handwritten input, such as mixed Chinese and English.
