Tesla plans to start expanding the layout of V3 supercharging piles in China in the second half of this year, and by the end of the year will add 4,000 supercharging piles (including V3 and V2 supercharging piles) in China.
Tesla stressed that this goal will not change due to the impact of the outbreak.
Previously, Tesla completed the construction of the first charging station with V3 supercharging piles in Jinqiao, Shanghai, and opened it to the public.
Tesla said it plans to expand the construction of the V3 supercharging pile in the second half of this year.
Currently, Tesla has nearly 2,500 supercharging piles and 2,400 destination charging piles in China. This year's target of 4,000 new supercharging piles means a 60% surge in the number of supercharging piles from the existing base.
Tesla's new generation V3 Super Charging Pile features a new liquid-cooled wire that is lighter, more flexible, and more efficient in dissipating heat, making it easier for users to charge.
Its peak charging power can be up to 250kW, which doubles the performance compared to the 120kW of the V2 Super Charging Pile, which is commonly used today.
If the Model 3 Long Range version is used, it can travel about 120 km on a 5 minute charge under peak power conditions.
