The India-made OnePlus 8 series will hit the Indian market by the end of May, a OnePlus executive said.
OnePlus' new flagship smartphone is currently being manufactured at the company's manufacturing facility in Noida, Uttar Pradesh.
"We expect it to turn into strong sales over the next few months." Vikas Agarwal, managing director, OnePlus India, said the OnePlus 8 series will be available in the Indian market by the end of May.
OnePlus launched the OnePlus 8 series across the U.S. and Europe last month, and the OnePlus 8 series is already available to customers.
However, this is not the case in India, which remains under a nationwide embargo due to the COVID-19 virus pandemic. Now that India is gradually opening up its economy by relaxing some lock-in rules, OnePlus is optimistic that it will finally be able to launch its latest flagship smartphone in India.
"We have resumed operations at the Noida plant last week as per the health and safety regulations set by the government," added Vikas Agarwal.
OnePlus India managing director also confirmed that the company has resumed customer service center operations in 18 cities.
