Chinese EV startup Xpeng's chief scientist Eric Guo has joined OPPO in early March this year, 36Kr reported on Wednesday citing sources from the phone maker.
The source said Eric Guo will act as chief scientist of OPPO, reporting to OPPO vice president and research institute director Liu Chang.
Eric Guo joined OPPO this time, not only targeting the mobile phone business, a source said, its next will lead the OPPO Institute to do two core work of intelligent perception and interaction.
Eric Guo was a researcher at the Microsoft Research Institute before joining OPPO and Xpeng, which is known as the "Whampoa Military Academy of AI".
