Baidu's executive vice president Shen Dou said today that Baidu launches live streaming business and will be active in promoting it.
He said that what Baidu is doing is information and knowledge-based live streaming, because search users have clearer information and knowledge needs, which is fundamental to Baidu live streaming unlike other live streaming platforms.
Shen Dou said the search and information streaming features will give Baidu a better idea of what type of live streaming users want to watch; on the other hand, Baidu has a user base of more than 1 billion, which are advantages that other live streaming platforms do not have.
"Baidu can also work with creators to provide users with deeper personalization through live streaming. For example, it provides one-stop services such as appointment and consultation based on health-based live streaming, and book-buying services based on knowledge-based and book-referral-based live streaming. Both for the creators, and for the Baidu mobile ecosystem, this means great room for imagination and play."
In the second half of 2020, Baidu Mobile Ecology will help creators grow from both product and support policies.
First of all, at the product level, Baidu has announced that it will fully penetrate all Baidu mobile products such as Baidu App, Aizi, Hundred Family, Smart App, Good-looking video, Baidu Encyclopedia and so on, allowing creators to operate across platforms.
Baidu has also launched eight programs to continuously support creators. Among them, the "Concentrate Energy Plan" will put forward 10 billion traffic and 500 million yuan subsidies to discover and build high-quality live streaming creators; the "Bichun Plan" put forward 50 billion traffic to help creators grow rapidly in all aspects; the "Future Plan" put forward resources including 100 billion traffic to support short video creators.
Baidu vice president and general manager of Baidu App Ping Xiaoli introduced, Baidu mobile ecology from May last year, the strategic upgrade to the whole year, Baidu AI technology and the whole mobile ecology is more closely combined, AI applications are more abundant.
Take Baidu App as an example, thanks to the continuous improvement of AI technology, the first search result satisfaction rate of Baidu App has increased significantly to 58% in the past year.
"Baidu App's daily life has now surpassed 230 million, with a 30% increase in per capita length of use and over 30% growth in the number of services; Baidu's original content has grown by 122% and its million fan authors by 98%; and the number of monthly live users of the smart applet has also reached 500 million." Ping Xiaoli revealed.
Baidu revealed that at present, the creators of Baijia Account platform has exceeded 3 million, 800,000 media organizations and PUGC creators of good-looking videos, the number of resident smart applets more than 420,000; Baidu Knowledge Pendant category currently has 220 million content creators, including 60,000 partner organizations and 50,000 experts and scholars.
