China Mobile, the country's largest telecom operator and China Broadcasting Network, which was established last year, have recently signed an agreement to jointly build 5G network.

The U.S. Commerce Department is about to sign a new regulation allowing U.S. companies to work with Huawei on next-generation 5G network standards, Reuters said on Wednesday, citing sources familiar with the matter.

As of January 1, 2020, there are 2,571 5G standard patents declared worldwide, of which Huawei has 3,147 to rank first, according to a report by German patent data company IPlytics.

As of the end of March, China has built a total of 198,000 5G base stations and its 5G subscribers have reached more than 50 million.
