TikTok responds to being banned by U.S. on government devices-CnTechPost

In response to the U.S. House of Representatives passing a bill to ban the use of TikTok on government devices, a TikTok spokesperson said that protecting user privacy is a top priority.

The spokesperson said "entire and growing U.S. team have no higher priority than promoting a safe app experience that protects our users' privacy." They added, "Millions of American families use TikTok for entertainment and creative expression, which we recognize is not what federal government devices are for."

The U.S. House of Representatives passed a bill on July 20 that would prohibit federal employees from using TikTok, an app owned by Chinese tech company ByteDance, on government devices.

Those affected include U.S. government officials, members of Congress, congressional employees, and officers or employees of government companies.
