Chinese e-commerce platform Pinduoduo held a live event yesterday with the main aim of spreading national defense education to the public, the aviation and flight training related knowledge.
At the same time, interested viewers can also place direct orders for four kinds of helicopters priced from 4.2 million yuan to 90.55 million yuan.
They can be used in civilian applications such as flight training, flight experiences, excursions, and sightseeing.
These include the 4.2 million-yuan Robinson R44 helicopter, the 15 million-yuan Airbus R44, the 28.5 million-yuan Bell 407 helicopter, and the 90.55 million-yuan Bell 429 helicopters.
For different models of aircraft, Pinduoduo users can pay anywhere from 29,999 to 49,999 yuan upfront and then communicate with the merchant about the final payment offline.
At the end of the campaign, the page showed that two Airbus H125 helicopters priced at 15 million yuan were sold.
In April, Taobao anchor Wei Ya sold the most expensive product ever on Taobao Live - a rocket worth 40 million yuan - and the buyer was Chang Guang Satellite (CGSTL), the first commercial remote sensing satellite company in China.
The rocket model is the Kuaizhou I solid launch vehicle, which was developed by Hubei Space Science and Technology Rocket Technology Co.
The rocket, which normally costs around 45 million yuan for a commercial launch, is now available for 40 million yuan on Taobao Live, and the CGSTL "coupon" is worth around 5 million yuan.
