At a global analyst conference held yesterday afternoon, Huawei rotating chairman Guo Ping said that in the past year, Huawei has struggled to survive and try to move forward amid the unavailability of a large number of industrial technologies.
He said that in 2019 Huawei sales revenue of 858.8 billion yuan, net profit of 62.7 billion yuan, unconventional reasons research and development investment, inventory increased significantly. Of which, RMB 131.7 billion was invested in R&D, an increase of 29.8%, and RMB 167.4 billion in inventory, an increase of 73.4%.
According to Guo Ping, the business has been able to continue without interruption, especially thanks to the understanding and support of customers and partners. The U.S. Department of Commerce has only made direct product rule changes for Huawei, which is expected to inevitably be affected and will only do its best to find solutions.
He said the U.S. crackdown on Huawei will not only affect Huawei, but also hurt the experience of those customers and consumers who use Huawei products and services.
Guo Ping said that despite the crackdown, Huawei will not move towards closure, towards isolation. Huawei's strategy of diversification and globalization will not waver.
"Last year we purchased 18.7 billion dollars from the United States, and we will continue to buy products from American companies if the U.S. government allows us to do so, We will also care for and nurture other suppliers." Guo Ping said.
