Nubia Red Magic 3S, Black Shark 2 Pro and Huawei Mate 30 Pro were the top performing smartphones in the third quarter in China, according to Master Lu, a Chinese benchmarking platform.
The latest report released by Master Lu on Tuesday showed Nubia Red Magic 3S managed to score 489,460 points to grab the top spot. The Black Shark 2 Pro and Huawei Mate 30 Pro scored 456,441 points and 424,261 points respectively.
Note that the top two are both gaming smartphones powered by the recently announced Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus octa-core processor clocked at 2.96GHz, and are using UFS 3.0 for the internal storage.
While the Huawei Mate 30 Pro smartphone is powered by the company’s own Kirin 990 chipset.
The Mate 30 Pro has the Kirin 990 5G chipset, which is clocked at 2.86 GHz. The SoC is slightly different from the basic Kirin 990, running in the non-5G variants of the phones.
It has slightly faster CPU clusters and two big NPU cores to match the faster performance of the chipset, given the higher bandwidth speeds.
In terms of fluency, the Mate 30 Pro was ranked No.1, followed by Nubia Red Magic 3S and the OnePlus 7 Pro.
In chipset comparison, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 855 Plus scored the most, followed by Huawei’s Kirin 990 and the Snapdragon 855 came third. Among the top 10 smartphones, the devices powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon series processors occupied five spots.
Master Lu is also a computer system optimization and security firm recently spun off by the Chinese Internet conglomerate Qihoo 360. It went public in Hong Kong on October 10.
