At present, the China-made Model 3 standard range upgrade is priced from RMB 323,800 before subsidy and from RMB 303,550 after subsidy.
Under China's recently announced 2020 new energy vehicle subsidy policy, new energy passenger cars must be priced at 300,000 yuan or less before subsidy.
The price of the China-made Model 3 standard range upgrade will be reduced by at least 23,800 yuan to enjoy the subsidy, and the final price is expected to start from 279,750 yuan after the price reduction and the subsidy.
Today morning, Tesla announced that in order to allow more Chinese consumers to enjoy more cost-effective Tesla products, and to meet the requirements of the national subsidies for new energy vehicles, the price of the standard range upgrade of the Chinese-made Model 3 will be reduced to less than 300,000 yuan, the new price will be announced on the official website on May 1.
Meanwhile, during Tesla's Q1 2020 earnings conference, Tesla CEO Musk confirmed the news. He said, "A new selling price will be announced tomorrow and this one will be under $300,000."
