Netmarketshare, a leading statistical agency, recently released its latest share data for desktop operating systems, browser software at the end of March.
On the operating system front, Windows 7's share fell further, to 26.23% at the end of March, while Win10 continued its slow climb to a new high of 57.34%.
In third place is Windows 8.1 at 3.69% and fourth place is macOS X 10.14 at 2.62%.
In terms of browsers, a very important change has occurred, although Google Chrome firmly holds 68.5%, or nearly 70% of the PC share, but only at the end of January this year, Microsoft's newly built Edge, based on the Chromium open source platform, overtook Firefox (7.19%), with 7.59% to take the second place in the world.
IE still has a 5.87% share.
From the user's word of mouth, the new Edge is fully compatible with Chrome's existing third-party extensions after switching to Chromium, and the interface ease of use and running speed have been significantly improved.
