The WeChat team today announced that the mini-store, which began internal testing on July 24, is fully open to companies, individually owned businesses, and individuals.

WeChat mini-store also releases a service marketplace and introduces mini-store open components for merchants and service providers to quickly invoke official interfaces for personalized development.

According to WeChat, mini-store was launched by the WeChat mini-program team, hoping to help long-tail merchants and individual entrepreneurs to have a free and fast mini-program for selling goods, and to achieve self-management of e-commerce business within WeChat.

WeChat monthly active users grow 6.5% year on year to 1.206 billion in Q2

Individuals can follow the registration guidelines and provide their ID and bank card information to open a store.

Individual stores support the sale of first-hand and second-hand goods, one WeChat account can only open one mini-store.

Companies and individually owned businesses need to provide business licenses, business information, bank account information and other relevant qualifications to sell and operate, and one WeChat account can open three "company and individual" mini-stores.

WeChat mini-store has also launched its official website and a new management backend.

For individual stores, the mini-store team will help them manage their stores via the mobile management backend, while company stores and individually-owned business stores will be managed via the computer backend.

The mini-store entry process is also further simplified. New users can register by searching "mini-store helper" in WeChat, and individuals will have direct access to the mobile backend after opening.

Companies and individually owned businesses can log in to the computer management backstage to complete their profile and open a mini-store after opening it with one click on their mobile phone.

The WeChat team has also disclosed the category opening scope, industry, and product qualification requirements of the mini-store to facilitate businesses and individuals to make relevant inquiries.

Will QR codes run out as it power a large part of China's economy?

WeChat's mini-store service market is also officially online, and value-added service providers can enter it directly.

The mini-store service market opens up commodity management services such as one-click moving, batch management of goods, and cross-platform management of goods, as well as order logistics management services such as batch order processing, batch order punching, and logistics account binding.

At the same time, the mini-store open component is now open for beta testing.

Merchants who have personalized development needs or existing mini-programs can directly call the standardized interface provided by the government by accessing the mini-store open components.

Open component interfaces and functions help merchants reduce development costs and realize personalized development at the same time.

Merchants can now apply for in-test access to mini-store open components to enjoy the services and capabilities provided by mini-store and carry out personalized development.
