China's first "home-building machine", developed by the China Construction Third Engineering Bureau, was recently unveiled in the southwest municipality Chongqing.
The machine, based on the "air-building machine" for high-rise buildings above 300 meters, can build a floor in three days, setting a new record in the housing construction field, the company said.
It takes 2 years to develop, improve, and integrates the functions of outer protection frame, retractable awning, hydraulic distributor, formwork hanging and pipeline spraying.
The home-building machine can cover 5-8 structural floors at a time, and when the upper part of the outer frame is constructing the main structure, the bottom of the outer frame can be interspersed with decoration work at the same time.
According to China Construction, the machine is more integrated, faster and of better quality than previous technologies.
