Huawei Technologies USA Inc. was sued on Monday in the Eastern District of Texas by a company called Cedar Lane Technologies, which claims Huawei is infringing on their image processing patents, according to the Lawstreetmedia website.
Cedar Lane filed a patent infringement lawsuit earlier this week, when they claim to they were using these patented methods in their systems and devices.
According to Cedar Lane, Huawei is infringing on a number of different patents, including JPEG compression, scene recognition, electroluminescent devices, image processing systems, VR cameras, and more.
Cedar Lane claims that Huawei has infringed a specific patent on a variety of products including smartphones such as the Mate Xs, Mate X, Mate 20, Mate 20 Pro, Honor View 10, Honor 8, and tablets such as the MediaPad M5, MediaPad M6, and MediaPad T5.
Cedar Lane said these products have been made, used, and sold by Huawei.
Cedar Lane added that Huawei also infringed the patent by having its "employees internally test and use these Exemplary Products," and that Huawei had knowledge of the patent.
Cedar Lane is a Canadian company, incorporated on April 29, 2019, whose products include consumer electronics and personal computers, e-commerce and software, media content and distribution, mobile communications and devices, and networks.
