A study of app usage found that TikTok is almost as popular among children as YouTube.
An analysis of 60,000 households in the United States, the United Kingdom and Spain found that children between the ages of 4 and 15 years old spend 80 minutes a day watching TikTok videos, five minutes less time than they spend on YouTube.
The data is collected by Qustodio through its parental control application. This monitors which apps the child is using, as well as monitoring reports showing how long the parent has allowed. The data covers the period from February 2019 to April 2020.
