BYD said recently that in order to achieve protection for users, BYD has added "high-temperature disinfection function" through an OTA update for the cars' system.
BYD owners can remotely turn on the high-temperature disinfection function through an app. The car will determine whether the air conditioning system is heated by the PTC alone or in conjunction with the engine, according to the temperature inside the car, to heat up the air conditioning air inside the car to over 60℃.
Studies have shown that the proteins, nucleic acids, active substances, etc. in the cells of the new coronavirus were destroyed at 56°C for 30 minutes, causing the peptide chain bending structure of the cellular proteins to change, losing protein function and eventually being killed.
