However, the security patch did not stop. Samsung โs commitment is to upgrade the system in two years and upgrade the security patch in four years. In March this year, the Galaxy S7 / edge phone was upgraded with the latest Android security patch. SM believes this may be the last security update.
In theory, it is still possible for Samsung to release a security update to the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge phones, but that must be a serious security hole.
The Galaxy S7 series also has a Galaxy S7 Active three-defense machine, which is still on the Samsung list. It was upgraded to Android 8.0 in 2018. It is expected that the next security patch will be the last update.
