China-made Tesla Model 3 production in the first half of the year was 49,800 units, ranking first in China's pure electric passenger car, according to the data released by China Automotive Power Battery Industry Innovation Alliance.

Tesla's in-car system was updated in June with a version that allows the driving visuals to show more objects, including stoplights, stop signs and selected road markings.

China-made Model 3 sales in June were 14,954 units, up 35 percent from the previous month, according to China Passenger Car Association (CPCA).

Recently a Model 3 in China crashed into a truck while on autopilot, drawing widespread attention. In respond to this Tesla China gave their explanation. 

Tesla has opened up reservations for the Cybertruck, an electric pickup, in China for a deposit of 1,000 yuan ($141), slightly more than the $100 reservation fee in the United States.

Tesla today lowered the starting price of the Model S and Model X in China both by 8,000 yuan (USD 1,132).

Tesla extended its pre-market gains to 9 percent in the U.S., reaching a total market cap of $228 billion.

As Tesla's Shanghai factory enters the advanced stages of construction for its Phase 2 project, the building where the Model Y will be produced has also seen some important internal upgrades.

Tesla announced on its website yesterday that the NEDC range of the China-made Model 3 high-performance all-wheel drive version is 635km.

Previous media reports said a Tesla Model 3 in Jiangxi province was suspected to have run out of control and caught fire. Now a video of the accident has been released.
