China-made Model 3 sales in June were 14,954 units, up 35 percent from the previous month, according to China Passenger Car Association (CPCA).
Tesla's share of China's all-electric vehicle market was 23 percent in June, the CPCA said in a report today.
The CPCA expects Tesla's market share to continue to increase in the second half of the year, as China's electric vehicle market continues to grow in the second half of the year compared to the same period last year.
Retail sales of passenger cars in China reached 1.654 million units in June, up 2.9 percent from May, marking the fourth consecutive month of month-over- month growth.
Retail sales fell 6.2 percent year-over-year in June, which the CPCA said was due to a high base last year when dealers were clearing inventory.
China's passenger vehicle market for January-June was 7.7 million units, a year-over-year decline of 23%.
