Douyin, the Chinese version of TikTok, has recently launched a video call function.

Unlike the previous "Connect" function that only supports random matching video chat, the new video call feature allows Douyin friends to follow each other to initiate video calls.

The current entrance of the Douyin video call function is in the upper right of the Douyin-Message-Friends chat interface and the "+" in the bottom navigation bar.

At present, there are two ways to realize Douyin video call. One is to follow each other in Douyin and the video call can be started after that.

In early April of this year, Douyin internally tested a video call function called "Connect". Only after the 1V1 random match, video calls can be made.
