Microsoft is collaborating with pharmaceutical companies to recruit Covid-19 rehabilitation patients to donate plasma for the treatment of this disease.
In order to help publicity, Microsoft will launch a chat bot, called "plasmabot", to guide people who are willing to donate, and help solve a series of problems such as the donation process.
The plasmabot can "chat" with the new crown's healers, provide them with information about the donation process, and direct them to recommend nearby sites to guide them to donate safely.
Plasma has been used as a treatment method for decades. When the patient recovers from the disease, they will produce antibodies to resist the presence of the pathogen.
At present, the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has not approved any treatment for the use of healing plasma, but it is monitoring it as a researchable product.
Microsoft is supporting the "Plasma Alliance" composed of Octapharma, Takeda, CSL Behring and other companies. The project was launched in late March, and consultants from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation joined it.
As of April 19, a total of 738,913 cases of new coronary pneumonia were diagnosed in the United States, 68,285 cases were cured, and 39,015 cases died. It is the country with the most severe new crown epidemic in the world.
Peter Lee, head of research at Microsoft, pointed out that the goal now is to recruit more plasma donors as soon as possible, because experts predict that new coronary infections in many cities have reached or near their peak.
