Beijing-based TikTok owner ByteDance has agreed to acquire Chinese gaming studio Shanghai Moonton Technology, the latter said on March 22.

Beijing-based ByteDance, the owner of short video app TikTok, announced on March 19 that it will establish the Nuverse Inspiration Fund (NIF) to invest in gaming startup teams.

The report said ByteDance is actively building an AI chip team and has offered many chip-related positions on Chinese recruitment platforms.

Dali Education, the education brand of ByteDance, announced on February 26 that it will hire 10,000 people over the next four months.

This spring recruitment will last from the end of February to the end of April and exceeds its previous spring recruitment scale.

It is worth noting that Zhu recently liked short videos by several TikTok algorithms and product employees in TikTok, and the frequency of his interactions with TikTok employees has increased significantly.

ByteDance, whose gaming business was founded in 2019 as the company's game publishing and production arm, has now officially confirmed its gaming brand as Nuverse Games.

Beijing-based ByteDance CEO Zhang Nan said Thursday that Douyin Search's monthly active users exceeded 550 million, the first time ByteDance announced the number of active users on the short-video app's search business.

According to Chinanews.com, ByteDance said it would not comment on the rumors. However, a source close to the matter said the news is not true.

Glance's parent company InMobi owns the short video app Roposo, which became hugely popular after TikTok was banned in India in July last year.
