- Hitachi has introduced UBTech's industrial humanoid robot, Walker S2, into select manufacturing scenarios.
- The two companies are conducting in-depth secondary development for humanoid robot applications in elevator manufacturing.

UBTech and Hitachi China have formed a strategic partnership to jointly explore the broad application of humanoid robots in smart manufacturing scenarios.
The collaboration aligns with the key trend of intelligent transformation in China's manufacturing sector, focusing on the urgent practical needs of enterprises for flexible production and improved efficiency.
Under the newly signed agreement, the two sides will deepen cooperation in Hitachi's advantageous fields, including elevators, building systems, healthcare, and semiconductor manufacturing equipment, according to an announcement on Monday.
Hitachi has already deployed UBTech's industrial humanoid robot, Walker S2, in select manufacturing settings, and the two companies are jointly advancing on-site operational testing.
The two parties have carried out in-depth secondary development of humanoid robot applications to achieve fully flexible intelligent workflows and data integration around elevator manufacturing, .
As a leading humanoid robot maker in China, UBTech is pacing global commercialization, with its total revenue topping 2 billion yuan ($280 million) in 2025.
Last year, the company's sales of full-size humanoid robots reached 1,079 units, generating 820 million yuan in revenue and rapidly becoming its largest core revenue source.
These delivered robots primarily entered core industrial scenarios such as automobile manufacturing, smart logistics, semiconductor manufacturing, and industrial data collection, accounting for over 80% of the total.
The alliance with Hitachi is one of several recent key global strategic partnerships for UBTech aimed at accelerating the commercialization and scaled production of humanoid robots.
In March of this year, UBTech reached a digital strategic partnership with Siemens to ensure the smooth realization of its mass production target of over 10,000 industrial humanoid robots in 2026.
Subsequently in April, a UBTech subsidiary officially signed an agreement with Honda Trading to jointly promote the entry of humanoid robots and unmanned logistics vehicles into the automotive supply chain system.
