Chinese robot maker Unitree released its new R1 series dual-arm humanoid robot on Thursday, with a starting price set at 26,900 yuan ($3,930).

The new product mainly focuses on the dual-arm manipulation capabilities of the upper body, supporting flexible adjustment of 15 to 31 degrees of freedom. Its arm degrees of freedom can be configured as 5x2 or 7x2.

The lower body of the robot is designed as a fixed base or a mobile chassis. Its body and head are each equipped with an octa-core processor, and the base computing power of the head module reaches 10 TOPS.

To meet higher-level computing needs, customers can optionally equip the Nvidia Jetson Orin high-computing power module on demand, which will boost the robot's overall computing power to 40 to 100 TOPS.

In terms of environmental perception and interaction, the high-end versions additionally integrate a chassis LiDAR, while the entire series comes standard with binocular cameras, a four-microphone array, and dual speakers.

The Unitree R1 can provide a battery life of about 1.5 hours in battery-powered mode, and the entire series supports secondary development and smart OTA upgrades to meet the needs of developers.

To adapt to diverse application scenarios, the robot's end effectors can be replaced with a variety of different actuators. The company has currently showcased dexterous hands with two, three, and five fingers.

The release of the new product comes as the startup accelerates its expansion into the offline consumer market, with its first direct-sale store officially opening in Beijing's Wangfujing commercial district on Wednesday.

The Hangzhou-based manufacturer is currently in a period of rapid expansion, preparing for an initial public offering (IPO) of up to 4.2 billion yuan on Shanghai's STAR Market.

The humanoid robot business transitioned into its largest source of revenue in 2025, driving a massive 335.4% surge in the company's annual revenue last year.

The raised funds will be primarily used for the research and development of embodied AI models and the expansion of manufacturing bases, helping the company — which ranked first globally in shipments last year — absorb market demand.
