Chinese social media and gaming giant Tencent has teamed up with a number of TV manufacturers, including TCL, Hisense, Changhong and Konka, to launch a TV version of its START cloud game platform.

Tencent Games said today that players only need to connect a gamepad to experience single console games, "Iris.Fall", "Xuan Yuan Sword: The Gate of Firmament" and "NBA2K ONLINE 2" on START certified smart TVs.

Tencent Games said that START will bring more popular licensed game masterpieces to TV in the future.

START has created a set of certification system for TV and handle manufacturers, and has customized a variety of TV-specific handles with handle manufacturers. On TVs certified by START, the latency of cloud game operation is stable within 120ms.

Tencent Games says that even for large games that require strong specifications, users can get graphics on TV that are comparable to those on consoles.

Tencent Games said that the TV version of START Cloud Games is now available for users in 20 regions, including Guangdong, Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Anhui, Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei, Sichuan, Chongqing, Hunan, Hubei, Fujian, Shandong, Jiangxi, Henan, Shanxi, Guangxi, Guizhou, and Inner Mongolia.
