Chinese technology firm Coolpad announced today that it is voluntarily terminating its patent infringement lawsuit against Xiaomi. In early 2018, Coolpad initiated a series of patent infringement lawsuits against Xiaomi, some of which are still pending in court as of today.
Coolpad's statement said that the domestic and international environment is undergoing profound and complex changes, and breaking through technology bottlenecks and promoting better and faster development of the industry is now a top priority for companies in the technology industry, including Coolpad and Xiaomi.
As a result, Coolpad has decided to voluntarily terminate its patent lawsuit with Xiaomi with immediate effect, and to withdraw the ongoing case in question.
In the future, Coolpad will continue to intensify its research and exploration of cutting-edge technologies and application scenarios to enhance its own strength and contribute more to the development of the industry, the company said.
Coolpad also said it is willing to carry out various forms of technical exchanges and cooperation with outstanding enterprises inside and outside the industry, and to jointly promote technological self-reliance on the basis of respecting technological innovation and intellectual property rights.
