Richard Yu, CEO of Huawei's consumer business, said that China needs to accelerate its own chip manufacturing development, including the semiconductor manufacturing process, which requires companies to work together.
Huawei usually unveils its latest Kirin chip every year at the IFA conference, but at the IFA 2020 held on September 3, Huawei did not unveil the much-anticipated Kirin 9000 chip.
Richard Yu recently said that the production of the Kirin 9000 chip will end on September 15, it will also be available, but in limited quantities.

TSMC is producing it around the clock. Due to the US ban, TSMC will ship the chip to Huawei before September 14, after which it can no longer do business with Huawei.
After the US escalated the ban, resulting in MediaTek and Qualcomm cannot ship to Huawei normal, but MediaTek has made applications to the US side to continue to supply.
Because there is no support for the Chinese chip manufacturing industry, Huawei is facing the problem of no chips available.
Richard Yu said the only problem Huawei is now facing is production, Huawei is not able to produce, adding that Chinese companies in the globalization process only do the chip design, which is also a lesson.
As for how to solve the chip problem, Richard Yu said that China's own chip manufacturing should be accelerated, including the semiconductor manufacturing process, and companies should work together.
He also said that Chinese companies should also think about creating an ecosystem and do other things that can be done, such as screens, smart TVs, computers, and other large-sized, less demanding products.
Earlier, Huawei rotating chairman Guo Ping said in a discussion with new employees that it will continue to maintain its investment in HiSilicon, while helping its front-end partners improve and build their capabilities, believing that there will be a stronger HiSilicon in a few years.
Guo Ping further said that the crackdown on Kirin chips will create some difficulties for the high-end mobile phone business, but believes it can be resolved.
