Alibaba Cloud announced today that it will fully serve the construction of Beijing City Brain, using AI to alleviate local traffic congestion problems.
Liu Song, vice president of Alibaba, said that it will focus on the modernization of urban governance and the core functions of the capital, and land on scenarios such as environmental protection, smart communities, traffic management, and smart business districts.
Currently, more than 30 cities around the world have introduced City Brain.

Beijing is one of the most complicated cities in China in terms of traffic conditions. To alleviate traffic congestion in Beijing, Alibaba Cloud is currently applying digital technology to analyze road congestion, including congestion indexes and traffic light durations for multiple road sections.
In the future, city brain citywide traffic dynamics awareness and artificial intelligence signals can be used to optimize signals for congestion in urban areas.

At present, the city brain community pilot has also been opened. The pilot community builds community ecological applications through an open platform and builds smart community applications in service scenarios such as elderly care, life services, and parking, to realize a scenario system of community mutual aid and shared governance.
In 2016, Hangzhou jointly released the first City Brain with Alibaba Cloud. Since then, City Brain has gradually expanded from the transportation field to multiple city scenarios.
Currently, more than 30 cities around the world have introduced City Brain, including Hangzhou, Beijing, Shanghai, Zhengzhou, Haikou, Macau, and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
