In addition to Samsung displays and LG displays, Chinese panel maker BOE will also be an OLED panel supplier for Apple's 5G iPhone, Digitimes said, citing sources.ย
Display Supply Chain Consultants, a global authority on display, previously said that Apple's upcoming iPhone 12 Max will use OLED panels from BOE and LG Display, while Samsung Display provides panels for the 5.4-inch iPhone 12, 6.1-inch iPhone 12 Pro and 6.7-inch iPhone 12 Pro Max.
However, according to Mydrivers.com last week, Apple booked 75 million orders for the new iPhone OLED screen, of which Samsung took 55 million exclusively and LG Display took the remaining 20 million.ย
This means that the previously rumored BOE is out, the report said.
For LG, a quality flaw that was denied by Apple last year at a crucial moment in the final validation of the iPhone 11 Pro is more discreet this year.
It is also reported that BOE is still relatively competitive, and it is likely to provide screens for the official iPhone flipping model by the end of this year.
