It is widely expected that Apple will launch four iPhone 12 models this year, all with OLED panels that support 5G connectivity.
Some analysts say that the cheapest iPhone 12 could feature a 5.4-inch screen and be priced between $600 and $700.
Starting at $699, the iPhone 11 has been a huge success for Apple, especially compared to some of its competitors. The iPhone 11 has sold a lot more than some of its competitors, including the Pixel 4 and the recently released Galaxy S20 series.
The iPhone 11 has been selling better than any other phone since its launch in September and is the new iPhone that many people are most likely to buy.
This year, Apple is expected to launch no less than four different iPhone 12s, all with OLED panels and 5G support, and the most affordable iPhone 12 will likely be cheaper than the base iPhone 11.
An analyst told The Elec that the cheap iPhone 12 will likely feature an OLED screen made by Chinese display manufacturer BOE.
The company, which has long sought to win iPhone contracts, is expected to join Samsung and LG as suppliers of OLED screens for iPhone phones.
UBI Research analyst and industry insider Chung-Hoon Lee said the iPhone 12 with the 5.4-inch screen could be priced between $600 and $700 because BOE can offer a better price for the screen.
The 6.1-inch iPhone 12 will be the direct successor to the iPhone 11, which is expected to be priced at a whopping $750.
Apple will also launch two Pro models this year, including the 6.1-inch iPhone 12 Pro and the 6.7-inch iPhone 12 Pro Max, which are likely to be priced the same as their predecessors, starting at $999 and $1099, respectively.
The interesting thing about all these iPhones is that they will support 5G connectivity. We've already seen Samsung raise prices on all its Galaxy S20 phones earlier this year as they support 5G networks.
Then again, this year Apple will have to deal with a variety of issues arising from the COVID-19, including reduced demand for new handsets and various logistical issues that could affect the launch of new devices.
As with other iPhone rumors, things could change soon, depending on what happens next.
Apple is still expected to launch the iPhone 12 series in mid-September and then make the new iPhone available for sale in the next few months.
