Following Baidu Paddle deep learning platform, Baidu's Kunlun AI chip has also been adapted to the CPU made by Chinese IC design company Phytium Technology.

In addition to the already adapted China-made OS, it is possible for Baidu Kunlun + Phytium CPU + China-made OS + Baidu Paddle to be fully China-made in the AI computing system.

Phytium said that Ouyang Jian, general manager of Baidu Smart Chip, showed the video clip of Baidu Kunlun AI chip and Phytium CPU adaptation for the first time in an online public class.

The video showed that the server equipped with Phytium CPU and Kunlun acceleration card runs smoothly and has strong performance, and the image segmentation speed is significantly accelerated.

Baidu's Kunlun chip is the Baidu Paddle deep learning platform. Baidu's another heavyweight AI product has been adapted to Phytium.

Baidu Kunlun AI chip is Baidu self-developed cloud full-featured AI chip, using Baidu self-developed XPU neural processor architecture, providing 512GB/s memory bandwidth.

It can provide up to 260 TOPS at a power consumption of 150W and is the industry-leading China-made AI chip.

As for the Phytium CPU, the Phytium FT-2000 +/64 processor that is compatible with the Baidu Kunlun AI chip is Phytium's product for the field of high-performance servers.

This processor has designed a data-friendly multi-core processor architecture, which breaks through key technologies such as efficient out-of-order superscalar pipeline, hierarchical on-chip parallel storage structure, multi-level heterogeneous on-chip interconnection network, and high-availability processor design.

Its performance has reached the same level as the international mainstream server CPU, filling the gap in China-made high-end general-purpose CPU field.

Phytium FT-2000 +/64 is China's first self-designed 64-core general-purpose CPU and the world's first 64-core general-purpose CPU compatible with the ARMv8 instruction set. It provides efficient and complete AI calculation process support for Baidu's Kunlun AI chip.

Phytium said that it is currently in the AI + intelligent cloud era, and there have been revolutionary changes from the chip architecture, operating system, and upper-layer applications.

Baidu Kunlun + Phytium CPU + China-made OS, coupled with China-made deep learning platform Baidu Paddle, and various applications in the new era, the entire China-made AI computing system will be on the stage of history and have the opportunity to become a new select.
