A new feature called "shared clipboard" was added into the Chrome 79, allowing users to copy on the computer and paste on the phone.
With this feature, it's much easier to transfer text, links, and more between your phone and your computer, eliminating the need to rely on third-party applications for copying and pasting.
The shared clipboard works between Android versions of the browser and all desktop versions (Windows, macOS, Linux, and Chrome OS).
This feature exists in the stable version of the Chrome browser on Android but is currently only available in Chrome Canary for the desktop and must be manually enabled.
Here is how to do it:
Make sure you have updated to the latest version of the Chrome Android APP;
Install the latest Chrome Canary version;
Sign in to the same Google Account on your PC and Android device;
Type chrome: // flags in the address bar on Chrome Canary and press Enter;
Use the search box to find "clipboard." Three flags should pop up: "Enable receiver device to handle shared clipboard feature", "Enable shared clipboard feature signals to be handled" ) And "Sync clipboard services";
Use the drop-down boxes to set all three flags to "Enabled" and restart Chrome Canary.
After completing the above steps, you can select text in the Chrome desktop browser and right-click to send it to your Android device. Similarly, text can also be sent to the computer after being highlighted on Android.
