- Qwen3.6-Max-Preview is the most powerful model in the Qwen series, significantly improving agent programming capabilities.
- Alibaba also released the Fun-ASR1.5 voice model supporting 30 languages, and hinted at a mysterious "Hello World" AI product launch on April 22.

Alibaba released a preview of its next-generation flagship model, Qwen3.6-Max, on Monday, continuing its push in the artificial intelligence (AI) sector.
Billed as the most powerful model in the Qwen lineup, the Qwen3.6-Max-Preview is currently available on Alibaba Cloud's Bailian platform and Qwen Studio, according to the company.
Compared to the previous Qwen3.6-Plus, the preview version boasts a stronger reserve of world knowledge and demonstrates superior instruction-following capabilities.
The Qwen3.6-Max-Preview significantly enhances agent programming capabilities, achieving the highest scores across six major programming benchmarks, Alibaba said.
While advancing its large text models, Alibaba also rolled out its next-generation end-to-end speech recognition model, Fun-ASR1.5, on the same day to break through voice transcription bottlenecks.
The model can recognize 30 languages and seven major Chinese dialect systems. It also features specialized optimization for reciting ancient Chinese poetry, drastically reducing proofreading costs.
Three days earlier, Alibaba open-sourced Qwen3.6-35B-A3B, the first open-weight product in the Qwen3.6 series, continuing its technical approach of being lightweight and efficient.
The model has a total of 35 billion parameters but only activates 3 billion parameters per inference, lowering computing costs and boosting operational efficiency.
Alibaba's flurry of tech releases appears far from over. The company has hinted at a new move on April 22 through an official poster featuring an AI female figure alongside the words "Hello World."
