Alibaba's Alibaba Token Hub (ATH) division has officially launched an open-ended world model product named Happy Oyster, focusing on real-time world creation and interaction.

The new AI (artificial intelligence) product can generate dynamic three-dimensional environments, primarily providing technical support for applications such as film and television production, as well as game development.

Happy Oyster, along with the previously released Happy Horse, belongs to the AI innovation department under ATH. The product has officially entered its closed beta testing phase, according to an announcement on Thursday.

The model is based on a native multimodal architecture, powered by a streaming generative world model that supports multimodal input and the joint generation of audio and video.

The official website currently offers users two modes of play: a "Directing" mode where users act as real-time directors, and a "Wandering" mode for free exploration.

On the same day Alibaba released this product, its rival Tencent officially announced the open-sourcing of its HY-World 2.0 model.

Tencent's new model allows users to generate realistic 3D assets with a single click using just simple text or image inputs, which can be seamlessly imported into mainstream game engines.

The successive launch of heavyweight 3D world generation models by two Chinese tech giants on the same day highlights the heating competition in the AI content generation sector.

Alibaba has launched its second Qwen AI glasses, the S1, just one month after the release of its predecessor.
