Alibaba has launched its second Qwen AI glasses, the S1, just one month after the release of its predecessor.
The Qwen S1 is priced at 3,499 yuan ($510) after Chinese subsidies and limited-time discounts, according to an announcement on Wednesday.
The device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon AR1 chip and a low-power co-processor. It features dual-display Micro-LED screens with a peak brightness of 4,000 nits.
The Qwen S1 supports voice and visual multimodal interactions driven by the latest Qwen AI models.
The new glasses retain a 287-milliampere-hour (mAh) swappable dual-battery design. This allows users to quickly replace batteries without powering down the device.
The device is also equipped with a 12-megapixel first-person view camera capable of recording video in 3K resolution.
For audio, the S1 features a five-microphone array combined with bone conduction technology. This ensures clear and accurate voice input even in complex environments.
The device comes with 32 gigabytes (GB) of local storage and supports Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 connectivity.
The Qwen S1 natively integrates the tech giant's complete service ecosystem, allowing users to command the device to perform tasks across various scenarios with a single sentence.
The release of the flagship model follows strong consumer demand for the first-generation Qwen AI glasses, the G1.
The G1 series sold out within just three hours of going on sale through select channels on March 8. That model had a lower official pre-subsidy price tag of 2,899 yuan.
The push into the hardware market is a key part of Alibaba's recent consumer-facing AI strategy restructuring.
The company established the Qwen Consumer Business Group in December 2025, with the ultimate goal of building Qwen into an all-scenario super app.
