Chinese robotics maker Unitree has begun selling its humanoid robots to overseas markets on Alibaba Group's AliExpress platform, marking a further expansion of its global footprint in a heated race with tech giants like Tesla.
Unitree is selling its cheapest humanoid robot on AliExpress. The R1 model is priced at roughly $8,150 with import fees factored in, and shipping to the US will be free of charge.
The model will be sold to overseas markets including the US, Canada, Japan, the United Arab Emirates, and Singapore via AliExpress.
The company also listed a scaled-down version on the platform priced at about $6,800, according to a Unitree announcement on Wednesday.
The company signed onto AliExpress's super brand global expansion program on Wednesday. The e-commerce platform aims to help 2,000 Chinese brands double their overseas scale in 2026.
While aggressively seeking out overseas customers, the Hangzhou-based robotics specialist prepared late last month for an initial public offering of up to 4.2 billion yuan ($610 million) on Shanghai's STAR Market.
The company's revenue reached 1.708 billion yuan in 2025, surging 335.4% year-on-year. Humanoid robots have become its core source of income, accompanied by the company ranking first globally in humanoid robot shipments last year.
Unitree's launch on AliExpress signals that high-end Chinese manufacturing brands are leveraging cross-border e-commerce platforms to directly participate in global tech competition.
