Chinese smartphone maker OPPO today announced the establishment of its Xi'an R&D center, aiming to further the layout of its R&D system and build a regionally balanced delivery capability.
OPPO said the R&D center will take on the R&D of cell phone products and research in key areas, and will develop into a comprehensive product R&D center in the future.
The establishment of Xi'an R&D center is an important step for OPPO's future business development and a key measure for OPPO to improve its R&D capacity building, said Duan Yaohui, vice president of OPPO.
As the R&D center located in northwest China, the Xi'an center will collaborate with other R&D centers to improve the comprehensive efficiency of R&D.
Previously at the OPPO Future Technology Conference, OPPO founder and CEO Tony Chen said that OPPO hopes to become a world-class technology company. In addition to building more excellent products, research and development of the core technology are the key.
OPPO will adopt"3+N+X" technology advancement strategy, said Liu Chang, vice president and director of OPPO Research Institute. This strategic plan will enable OPPO to develop and build more excellent artificial intelligence, multimedia, imaging, AR, and other innovative technologies with the support of the three basic technologies (software, hardware, and service).
