OPPO establishes first overseas 5G innovation lab in India-cnTechPost

OPPO today announced the establishment of a 5G Innovation Lab at its R&D center in Hyderabad, India, to focus on core product technology development in the 5G connected ecosystem.

OPPO said the establishment of the lab is a key step for OPPO to further drive global 5G commercialization and will further enhance its technological presence in the Indian 5G space.

In addition to the 5G Innovation Lab, OPPO also plans to open three additional innovation labs in India to develop and innovate for camera, power consumption and performance optimization.

To accelerate the mass commercialization of 5G, OPPO has been working closely with Ericsson, Qualcomm and other industry chain partners.

In December this year, OPPO successfully implemented a voice demonstration on top of a commercial 5G SA network in Switzerland.

OPPO is also the first smartphone brand to conduct 5G WhatsApp video calls in India.

To date, OPPO has partnered with more than 50 leading global operators to deliver 5G services to a wide range of users.
