Shen made the remarks at the 2020 China Automotive Supply Chain Summit in Wuhan on November 26, adding that NIO needs more new partners in the supply chain.
It is through collaborative development with partners that NIO is able to design and manufacture in hardware for the in-vehicle Nomi, the world's first automotive narrow-bezel AMOLED full-round screen, he said.

The second generation of Nomi achieves high contrast reproduction of the truest black, 1ms screen response speed, 50 times faster than the previous generation, 220ppi has 40% more pixels than the previous generation.
In the software area, NIO has iterated over 39 software versions in two years, with 280 optimizations of important features such as driver assistance, car control, infotainment, and 130 new highlights. Although NIO's strategy for both electrification and intelligence includes independent development of batteries, motors, electronic control, and intelligent core technologies, partners are still critical to NIO, he said.
"NIO is a 100 percent order-based company, with no inventory, and we have more than 20 partners in Wuhan to work with during the Covid-19 period, thank you very much," he said.
In the battery area, NIO has a strategic partnership with CATL, which has launched 70, 84, and 100 kWh batteries. "NIO can achieve battery swap with the same size pack in the same boundary conditions."
In the same intelligent field, NIO's product technology iterates rapidly, both in hardware and software. This also poses a high challenge to partners.
