TikTok and its Chinese version Douyin topped the global mobile app (non-game) download charts in July with more than 65.2 million downloads, up 21.4 percent from the same period in 2019, according to Sensor Tower.
The US was the largest market for TikTok downloads, accounting for 9.7 percent of the total. It was followed by Indonesia with 8.5 percent.
Facebook was ranked No. 2 with 53.6 million downloads, with 23.1 percent of downloads coming from India. It was followed by Indonesia with 9.1 percent.
TikTok & Douyin remains No. 1 in global mobile app revenue in July
The other three apps in the top five were ZOOM, Instagram and WhatsApp.
After TikTok was removed from the Indian App Store and Google Play Store on June 29, Snack Video entered the Top 10 global mobile app downloads for the first time. It currently sits at No. 8, ahead of another short video app, Likee.
Snack Video received 28.8 million downloads in July, 3.7 times more than the 7.8 million downloads it received in June.
