China's 'Microsoft' to release an operating system for personal use this week-CnTechPost

Union Tech, the developer behind the China made Unity Operating System (UOS) which is seen as China's version of Windows, today announced on its WeChat account that the UOS V20 Personal Edition will be released this week.

The Personal Edition offers a new desktop environment compared to the experience version released for individual users in May this year.

It will also feature a dual kernel mechanism, a newly designed experience tool, system backup and restore capabilities, and value-added services.

Users will be able to automatically activate the system online.

The UOS V20 Personal Edition is now in the release review phase, the company said.

On May 15, the UOS Personal Experience Edition was released. It is built on the Linux 5.3 kernel and is a desktop operating system designed for personal users.

The Experience Edition provides a rich application ecosystem, and users can download hundreds of applications through the app store, covering the needs of the daily office, communication, audio and video entertainment, design, and development and other scenarios.

The Experience Edition is available in two desktop styles, Fashion Mode and Productivity Mode, with white and black themes to suit different user habits and bring users a comfortable, smooth, and enjoyable experience.

After you download and install the UOS Personal Experience Edition, you will need to activate it.

Here is the official method of activation.

There are two ways to launch an authorization management application:

1: Enter the user status as [Inactive] from the system tray icon, click "U" in the lower right corner of the tray to enter the interface.

2: Control Center: Open [Control Center], select [System Information], click [About the machine], you can view the version authorization column, click [Activate] to enter the page.

Online/offline activation with activation code:

Method 1: Online activation

Before online activation, the system needs to be connected to an external network, open the License Management application, and follow the steps below to activate.

Click [Enter Activation Code]

Enter the correct activation code and click [Activate Now].

Click [Confirm] to activate the authorization and view the authorization success screen.

Method 2: Offline activation

If the user's system does not have an external network or if the system network connection is abnormal, the application will judge the user's network status, and if there is no network, it will jump to the offline activation page.

Open the license management application and click [Enter activation code].
