Apple removed 7,753 games from its China App Store between July 1 and July 7, as new rules went into effect, according to third-party data firm Qimai Data.
The number of new games added during that period hit a recent low of 735, the majority of which were free games.
On July 1, the new App Store games rule, which had been in the works for nearly half a year, came into effect.
According to Apple's rules, starting in July, all new unlicensed games will not be able to pass Apple's review and be added to the App Store in China.
For the games that are already in the App Store before July and do not have a license, there will be a six-month buffer period.
According to a previous Beijing News report, the percentage of unlicensed games in the China App Store is as high as 27.14 percent.
Apple's revenue from iOS games in China in 2019 topped $11.8 billion, up 14.9 percent year-over-year, according to the latest data from Sensor Tower.
