China Mobile launches OneOS, an Internet of Things operating system

China Mobile, one of China’s largest telecom operators, yesterday unveiled its operating system OneOS, a lightweight real-time operating system for the Internet of Things.

OneOS was put into development by China Mobile from 2018, and is cuttable, cross-platform, low-power, and highly secure, the company said.

It supports ARM Cortex-M/R/A, MIPS, RISC-V and other mainstream CPU architectures and is compatible with POSIX, CMSIS and other standard interfaces.

It also supports the MicroPython language, provides graphical development tools, can effectively improve development efficiency and reduce development costs.

OneOS supports cross-chip platforms and provides interoperability components, end-cloud convergence components and secure design architectures.

China Mobile said OneOS will be used in the future for smart systems such as smart wear, smart door locks, smart charging and environmental monitoring.
