Chinese chip maker Loongson Technology said that its 3A5000 CPU with 12nm process will be taped out in the first half of this year.
On April 19, 2020, the "2019 Cyber Trust Independent Innovation Research Report" prepared by the China Key Information Infrastructure Technology Innovation Alliance was officially released through the online platform.
Hu Weiwu, Chairman of Loongson Technology, attended the launch ceremony and brought a keynote speech entitled "The Road to Independent CPU Development".
Hu Weiwu said in his speech that the Loongson 3A5000 CPU will be taped out in the first half of the year, using a 12nm process and a 4-core 2.5GHz.
The next generation Loongson processor will increase the frequency and core count. Among them, Loongson 3A5000 process improvement improves the main frequency, taped in the first half of 2020, using 12nm process, 4 cores, 2.5GHz, memory controller delay bandwidth optimization, LLC doubled.
Loongson 3C5000 process improvement increases the number of cores, taped in the second half of 2020, 12nm 16 cores, supports 4-16 servers.
Hu Weiwu said that the general processing performance of the new Loongson processor is comparable to that of AMD, and it lives up to the "expectations" of the media since ten years ago.
