While launching the new iPhone SE on Wednesday, Apple also discontinued the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus.
The new iPhone SE has replaced the position of iPhone 8, but iPhone 8 Plus has no new replacement for the time being, because the 2020 iPhone SE does not include large-screen models.
The new iPhone SE uses a 4.7-inch display and is almost identical in design to the iPhone 8. It also uses the top and bottom bezels, and the Home button with Touch ID, excluding Face ID.
The new iPhone SE that Apple is selling is priced at $399, which is actually $50 cheaper than the iPhone 8 it replaces. You can also get the 128GB version for $449 or 256GB for $549.
But what about the iPhone 8 Plus? The code in iOS 14 has confirmed that Apple is planning to launch the "Plus" version of the new iPhone SE, but we don't yet know when it will be released. So for now, if you want a 5.5-inch iPhone SE, this is really not there.
The following is the current iPhone product line Apple is selling:
iPhone SE
iPhone XR
iPhone 11
iPhone 11 Pro
iPhone 11 Pro Max
The new iPhone SE pre-order starts at 5 pm on April 17 (Friday), April 17 (PDT / 8 pm) Eastern Time, and starts shipping on April 24 (Friday). There are three colors to choose from : White, red or black. All three colors use black front glass, which means that the white panel models that came with the iPhone 8 no longer exist.
