In 2019, Google introduced its system-wide dark mode to Android 10 for the first time. But once you switch from "System" settings to dark mode, services such as Google Play will also follow the system settings.
However, the issue is that in order to be able to switch to light mode in the Google Play app store, they also need to change the system theme to light.
Now Google has finally added a separate dark mode switch to the Google Play Store Settings page, so the issue no longer exists in the Google Play app store.
This is a nice improvement, which means that you can now change the Google Play Store theme without changing the system theme.
And, if you want the Google Play Store to follow the system settings always, you can also do this by selecting the system default option.
The new Google Play Store theme page is only available on some devices, but hopefully more Android smartphones will be able to use the theme page in the coming days.
The new dark mode is only available for Android 10 smartphones, which means that if you are running an older operating system, the new feature will be unavailable.
